This looks pretty good, I wasnt going to post until you extended the story a little bit, but I went ahead and did anyway. I really am curious about Ryman, and the queen also has me asking questions. Please keep writing!

Thanks, Nautipus. This is acually the first story I wrote in my current style. Hopefully, it'll be better than Dragonmaiden.

These story seems to be moving at an almost frenzied pace, and under normal circumstances I would say slow down, but it flows so well right now that it would be unnecessary.

I seriously enjoy his character. He seems to be the misfit of the trio, which kinda earns my pity, while at the same time his most recent interractions with the queen have been (for me) quite hilarious, which automatically makes him fun to read about. :D

Funny characters like him add a little something to a story, you know? Like seasoning. Only, it makes you laugh instead of say "Mmmm!" :D

My stories could use more of those. :(

It'd be a HUGE twist if he turned out to be the bad dude. :eek:

I'm actually planning on publishing this with a group of my other short stories. I might include Dragonmaiden with it, although I'll have to do a lot of rewriting to it. The ending felt a bit weak to me.

Hmmmm....the plot thickens. The character who rapidly rose to favoritism is now under scrutiny.....I sense a plot twist in my future.......dang it.... I remember what happened last time. ;)

In either case, great post, your emotional portrayals are unique to each character and varied as well, I think that one of your greatest traits is character developement.

Oh, BTW, Tuinor might not be able to post for a little while because he spilled water on his keyboard. :D I thought it was funny.

Claudious asesses the situation, but doesnt act on it. He's cool, and calculating in the line of fire. Quite literally too, because Echo apparently has it out for him. He knows that he needs more proof of Echo's actions before he can act, and he follows his intellect through on that decision. He's calm, loyal, and a survivor. Traits that are shown throughout your tale, but he is really illustrated here as a person who has the best nterests of the whole at heart, but knows how to act in that regard.

I hope that does it. :D

Me personally, I thought it was very nicely done. Not too showy, not too fancy, just right. I do want to know who spilled the beans on them both, but maybe we'll find out later ;)

In any case, I thought it was a very warm scene, and it made me smile and giggle a little too, especially when Lark and Dove walked in on our couple of the week (at least here at the 'Moot :D ). And I confess, I leaned back in me rolly-chair and let off a wee giggle.

The twist kinda blindsided me. Almost rudely, there I was, reading minding my own buisness, then suddenly-WHAM- I'm hit from behind with what felt like an empty SOBE bottle. The I said "Am I...I'm bleedin'....Somebody's gettin the a**-kickin of their lifetime."

But i was too drawn in to really follow through with that, so it'll have to wait. ;)

But seriously, the twist caught me off gaurd, sent me reeling, then shed some light on a couple of subjects. Very interesting.....must.....have....more.....

Oh, man. These posts are starting to get more heated! That's pretty neat how the Gifts are in the pendant. BTW, where do these gifts come from?

I didn't menton where they came from in the story, because the characters are all used to the fact some have these Gifts and others don't. And none question it. But for those that aren't part of the story, they're inborn. Everyone born in or around Greenwood has it, but some, like Lark and Claudious, never develop it. The rest develop according to inner strength and spirit. Some are stronger the others, as you've prolly noticed by now.

This is also why outsiders call Greenwood Witchwood.

Not bad. You really need to work on the formatting, it really gets hard when it comes to quotes, I can't tell who's speaking. Beyond that, the plot's decent. I like the idea of the Pendant, that's a cool concept. There were also a couple of interesting plot twists.

But I'd really like to see more character development. If you focused more on specific characters, instead of narrating what happened, it would work much better.

It would also be cool if you didn't make some things quite as obvious or stated. If Ryman is distrusted by Claudious, you should show that in little ways.
