the party arrives at that mountain and they have some adventures with Smaug and his fits, then Smaug is killed, and the Battle of Five Armies start.
That battle is fought between two parties: Elves, Men and Dwarves against the Goblins and the Wargs.
Thorin dies during the battle, as do Kili and Fili.
The mountain is re-taken by the dwarves, and Bilbo travels home and takes the Ring with him.
The End.

Anyway, the Hobbit is great! Loved it and it was easier to read then the Lord of the Rings at age 11 or so. A nice preparation for the Lord of the Rings itself. :)

:pHe/she could be at the part where Bilbo meets Gollum. IIRC Gollum mentions his real name... wow, it has been a long time since I read the Hobbit.

So, Smeagle, I bet you were somewhere at Chapter 5, Riddles in the Dark. If I were you, I'd re-read Chapter 4, Over Hill and Under Hill.
