I have been thinking, what if a cat got the one ring?
Would the cat realise the power? Or just use it to turn invisable and chase mice? Or what?
(I personaly like the idea of a cat takeing over middle earth :D  )

Technically a cat made the one ring. In the Tale of Tinuviel, BoLT, an early version of the evil maia Thu who would evolve into Sauron appeared under the name Telvido, Prince of Cats. So obviously the cat would certainly realize the power and subsequently try to take over the world with the end goal being to invade and pillage the city of Tuna of course... :p :D

Oh I believe it...a dog would have to ask his master first if he could take over the world...but Cats... ;)

...Flaming down the hallway… burning holes in the carpet and using the ents as scratching posts… Gorgoroth as a giant kitty-litter box…

I'm sure any ring would somehow have power over whatever beast uses it. Whether or not they'd know how to use it is another thing but I'm sure they'd become more evil somehow. Perhaps just more violent. If the rings of power bring out the worst characteristics in their wielders then maybe it'll make a cat go crazy and look rabid or something. I can't imagine it doing anything beyond what a cat itself is cognitively capable of.

An evil cat would actively plot the demise of popular political leaders, the ring would likely allow the cat to talk if it wished...
And a cat with the one ring would basicly become the perfect (no pun intended) assasin...
In a way it could slowly take over middle earth by trickery...
Just a theory...

Spectacular observation, Lady M! I'd forgotten that! :D
Anyway, no, I'm pretty sure not.
