My brother said that there is a script being considered about these two, and that the writer of Batman Begins (of all people) is working on it. Sound weird or what!

sounds awesome, if it's for real I can't wait to see it. The friendship between those two and their "little" writing club the inklings are just legendary.

Indeed they are; which reminds me, have we started a thread on the inklings yet? Off the top of my head, I can only think of Charles Williams as the other prominent Inkling...

Is this (http://comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=16727) what you're talking about? Looks... interesting.

If that is the one, it's based on a book (you can read the first three chapters of it here (http://www.heretherebedragons.net/)). It's a good concept - and I bet they didn't have any trouble pitching it to a film company after the success of LOTR and LWW.

(The book needs a British editor though - none of the characters sound like they're in 1917 London!)

Hmm...I can see that it's a fantasy story. Very strange idea, IMO.

Thats the funny thing about us americans, we think the british way of speaking is simply writing them with more letters:D...can't blame us;)

Norse Londoner accent. They came down from Valhallah, they were sick of all the family politics.
:D

Fair enough. I'd read a book about that, I can tell you.

Are you saying Wagner isn't Norse?:p The real stuff isn't that much different.

Wotan is Óðinn, for a start :p

Odinn, Wotan...hmm...
Maybe Wagner thought that the "din" part would give away what his music was before anyone heard it...I'd say he was pretty smart for changing the name.

Nice theory, but Wotan is the Germanic form of the Norse name.

Wow, we're way off topic here!

Not really...afterall, the movie we were talking about is fantasy, and all we've done is talk about different fantasy subjects:D

I'd like to see a movie like that, even if it is a fantasy. ;)

This is actually a pretty neat idea. Kinda weird too.

I don't know whether his novels really count as fantasy, but they certainly aren't realism.

One of them (All Hallows' Eve) starts with a woman who feels a bit disoriented after she's been through a plane crash (not surprisingly). She then sees her husband (who is at home, not on her flight) as if in a vision, and she's afraid that he has died and is appearing to her as a ghost.

The next events then show her that their encounter was the other way round - she is the one who had died (in the crash) and appeared to her spouse as a ghost in a vision.
