Well, we all know that our parents (for most of us, though you might be one of thoes parents I'm talking about) probably played SW in their back yards or at the park when they weren't being Treckkies (sp?)

My mom used to play Leia, her brother did Luke and sometimes Vader. Their other cousins did Han, Chewie, Obi-Wan, ect ect.

Anyway, when the first of the new three about Anakin cam out (TPM), I suddenly went from being called Ann, to Ann Lea, to Ani. Then, during High School, just about everybody called me Leia or Ani. Ani because of temper and emotional screw ups, and Leia because I played with briads and took a dare to show up as Leia one day after my best friend out of the guys had shown up as Vader one day. That homecomming ended up with the theme of "May the Horse Be With You" since our mascot was/is Mustangs.

Well, thoes are mine. What's your's? What's your stories behind them?

Wow...you actually accomplished being called by a SW name! ;)

One of my nephews is called Andrew. When he was little I kept calling him Anakin...it just got stuck in my head :p

I often thought of one of my friends who talks rather fast and excitedly to the point of pronouncing her words funny as Jarjar. That didn't go over too well.

Although, my other friend took C3P0 as an insult, too, but we were only referring to the fact that she thinks she knows everything.

Kind of unrelated, but related in a way. XD

When I joined an online community a couple of years ago, I had this same username. The founder of the board met me and immediately crowned me Bookie Wookie.

Hm... I wonder if there are any libraries on Kashyyk...

This is completely off the SW topic, but I think I'm probably one of the parents of the parents you're talking about, because when I was a kid, we still played "cowboys and Indians" or "sheriff and outlaws," so I was Belle, for Belle Starr, the only female outlaw we knew a name for. :D

Speakin of Star Wars names, does anyone agree with me that the names created for new characters are generally pretty lousy?

I mean from: Luke, Han, Leia, Wedge...all "viable" names (Luke!)....and now it's pretty much: Zoopy Zoophalfcake

Well, in the original Obi-Wan was a little "out there" but at least they had the good sense to nickname him "Ben." :D

I always called him chewingtobacca. Dunno why, but every time I refer to SW, that name pops into my head, then I have to be careful and try not to say it aloud. I'd probably get mobbed by SW fans.

My dad did something similar, he always called him "Chew 'baccy" :p
