I really really loved these books, and I was just wondering what anybody else thought of them. :)

Haven't read the books but saw the movie. Wasn't expecting much from it (saw it on a plane trip) and was pleasantly surprised. Liked the way the girls friendship was exressed. Saw the Ya-Ya Sisterhood movie a few years before (also on a plane :D ) and thought this was a much better movie.

OOh, I loved these books so much !!!
I've seen the movies some weeks ago, unfortunatly it hasn't got out in cinemas in France or Belgium, so I just saw it in DVD, and I thought it was quite good.
Do you know if a 4th book will be written ?

Quite sure it will;), those books are booming. I saw the movie in theaters (for sis' sake). I have my criticisms, but I thought America Ferrera was good, and Amber Tamblyn too.

I read the first one, tons of people recommended it to me, so I had high expectations. But I actually did not like it. I have not seen the movie yet.

Why did'nt you like them?

I didn't like the beginning, it was very confusing. It seemed to me like parts were kind of badly written, and unrealistic. The main reason however is Bridget. She didn't feel like a real person to me, and she was a very bad girl. The story didn't really seem to me much about friendship. I didn't really like much in Carmen or Lena's stories either. I did like Tibby and Bailey though.

I really liked the style.

i don't think that bridget was a "bad girl" exactly. I think she was just impulsive and out of control. I can actually relate to her a little. Carmen too. Sometimes Tibby. I liked it because the situations were fairly real, except exaggerated a little maybe.

Well, they are dramatic. I have friends who are worse. it's what makes them, them.

i have friends like all the SotP characters. It's kind of strange...

Maybe you're right about Bridget. I did feel very sorry for her at the end.

Elanor's Angel
05-17-2006, 08:24 PM
*laughs* There was one to the effect of
"Your chances of getting hit by lightning go up when you stand under a tall tree, shake your fists at the sky, and say 'storms suck!'" :D

E, LoR

Well, I read the rest of the books, and saw the movie. I have to say, I liked them better as a whole as the series went on. I like Bridget better now too. I think Tibby's story in the first book is my favorite though. As for the movie, I think they did it pretty well. Lena's story was totally changed, but still pretty good.
