Hey guys, did anyone see the trailer for the new movie remake of the broadway musical Rent? Personally i thought it looked fairly bad, and didnt care much for the lyrics or acting, but on the other hand they are going up against the original cast recordings that was put out on cd a number of years ago. The cd is one of my favorite cd's and i could listen for hours on end and never get tired of it. If anyone disagrees or has something to add id love to hear from you. Ta for now!

wait, you don't like the lyrics but you love the original cast recording and listen to it for hours on end?

that makes no sense. Same songs, same lyrics. And most of the cast members of the movie were original cast members in the show!

I've never seen the original, but i just saw the movie, and i loved it, i loved the music and the story line, over-all i think it was one of the best movies i've seen this year

when it comes to music, especially if the original is done well, it's very hard to get use to someone else doing another version... i can't think of any musical remakes i enjoyed more than the originals

that said, if the movie was your first exposure, you'd probably feel differently

Twoolf, eh? ;)

I don't think I like the idea of a modernized version of La Bohem...so I'll just not watch it.
