Been playing it for years... I usually play online though..not enough IRL opponents :(

I enjoy and respect the game, but I'm not very good. I still haven't adjusted to playing under time constraints, and the last time I made a stab at competitive play was a junior tournament when I was fourteen. Becoming good at chess takes a lot of commitment, from what I can ascertain, and I haven't found the time to really work the board.

I'm not a big fan of the Yahoo Games version of Chess... too many people who want to quick-play or quit when the game starts looking bad for them.

You can play 1 move/day or 1 move/ minute depending on whethr your opponent stays on the site for long periods of time. Quitting the game means losing points, and those losses are permanently recorded.
