Has anyone else heard of this new album Russell Crowe has out; his "solo debut"? I was rather surprised to hear he recorded at all, but he has (had, actually) a band, too. This CD (actually, it's only on iTunes at the moment), My Heart, My Hand was co-written almost entirely with Great Big Sea's Alan Doyle (I love GBS). I think, on the whole, it's fairly good, but I've been listening incessantly to the 30-sec sample of the song 'Mr. Harris'. It's like an old Irish drinking song, and I think, if it ever comes out on real CD (I don't have the capability to burn CDs), I will the buy the album just for this song.

Russel Crowe is one of my favourite actors...though I hear he's a nightmare to work with, even as an extra.

Russell Crowe...ugh. *shakes head in shame*
Okay, he's a great actor, but that's about all.

Well, you know what they say: "There is no such thing as bad publicity."

Okay, so he wasn't a popular subject- thought I'd bring him up one more time to post this link: 30 sec clips from Crowe (http://sanity.destramusic.com/artist.asp?ArtistID=36911)
I love this music. It probably has more to do with Alan Doyle than Russell Crowe. ;)

I think hes a great actor (with an anger mangement problem). Of the movies I've seen with him in it I think Gladiator was his best. But his music's not bad.

Cursing-ish? What's "cursing-ish?" I like him already. Russell Crowe is the bomb.

Hey, I knew he was in a band once but I had no idea he'd done anything recently. Now I wish my speakers worked. :(
As an actor, he's excellent, esspecially in A Beautiful Mind. (He couldn't help being good in Gladiator because it was written so gloriously, but his acting in A Beautiful Mind was really convincing and impressive.) BTW, when Gladiator was in theatres, he promoted the movie on Conan O'Brien's show after a full day out drinking. Did anyone else happen to see that episode? :D He was barely coherent. THe other guest star was the inventor of the Segway scooter, and the two of them jousted with prop lances, charging at each other on the scooters! LMAO!
That was probably the funniest Conan episode of all time. But I guess he isn't a good role model.

Yse, he is; he's an excellent role model! :D I think I've seen that Conan O'Brien episode, it WAS hilarious. Man, I wish Russell Crowe would make something new; it has been awhile since he's done a movie.

Well, would a good role-model throw a phone at a hotel clerk?

Name me a celebrity who would make a good role-model. It's basically one-half-dozen or the other in Hollywood, really.

Have you seen Cinderella Man? That was such a good movie.

No, I haven't, but I'll definitely check it out now. Is it on DVD or in theatres?

I think it's in between, now, although you might still find it in theaters. It's about a boxer in the Depression... stinkin' good film, IMHO.

Well, why not? Just because a person does one thing, doesn't mean he or she should be limited to doing just that one thing. There's a lot of "triple threats" out there in H-town, sing-dance-actors. Not all of them are too shabby, either.
