jeez, i read poetry all the time, but all my favs are dead- alot of them commited suicide (morbid, i know, but what can i say? lol :p )
i can recommend plenty of dead poets- say! that gives me an idea for a movie title... lol :p

Me too....there are some great ones of the past that I return to again and again. But I'm curious about the present. There are a few I know:

Seamus Heaney
Billie Collins
Robert Pinsky

But that's about all. I'm sure I could think of more whom I've read in journals and such, but am curious if people here are reading modern poets and if so whom? Or it could be back to Robert Herrick for me!!
