View Full Version : Name Game III
Tuor of Gondolin
05-26-2004, 11:38 PM
If this thread proves of interest, how about a few rule changes to make it more of a challenge and also easier to follow and keep track of?
1---Only names of a given people, comprising either individual names or group appelations of (elves, orcs, hobbits, etc., or other categories such as geographical features ) can be used at one time.
2---The last one to add a name wins (woo hoo!) if no new names are added (in, say, two days?). The winner can then start a new game (but still on this thread).
3---The general rule, begin a name with the last letter of the name before, still applies.
So, how about starting off with one of the "Bad Boys"?
Curufin
Man, you would be surprised how often we play this game when we are bored and there is no way to entertain ourselves. I never thought the name game extended into life in such ways ;)

Legolas (okay, a tad obvious).
The name game is also a good indoor recess activity for 4th-6th graders, I've found. You can come up with lots of variant rules, restrictions, etc.

Actually, Beren, only names of people are allowed...
I think we need a suc-... errr, a volunteer, to write all the names that were used in this game, so that names wouldn't be said twice. (I can't, I barely have time to post this post)

Actually, you're right RtB. Some volunteer should keep track of the names already used. I used Nori awhile back. And I got dinged for using Lobilia S-B. (You so kindly pointed it out -- ;) turnabout is fair play, is it not :p )
So, to continue (and, being a lazy -- er -- busy indidvidual, I didn't look through to see if this name had already been used...) I'll take it from "Nori" and post:

After five pages I think there should be new names. At maybe ten pages there can start to be repeats. Not to mention the rules state that there can be a "winner" of sorts and if repeating is alowed that can not happen. Only repeating letters that shouldbe allowed are j,x,y, and z i think.
