Is anybody really wanting to see this movie? What do you think of it? It looks quite good, so I'll probably go and see it, but I'm not sure at the moment.

Oh and our very own Bilbo Baggins is in it, although I think he'll be wearing shoes this time, I guess he'll be doing alot of running from whatever Mother Nature is throwing at them.;)

From what I've seen of it on trailers it looks quite good. With New York yet again being trashed by some horrendous happening.
Counting Deep Impact, Armageddon, Godzilla and King Kong as the others.

I'm going to see it. I'd love to see the world come to an end yet another time in the movies. I knew they'd eventually make a film like this about how nature 'hits back' because of mankind's global warming and stuff. I just hope it's good and that it's more than just special effects, even if that seems rather unlikely judging from the trailers.

I just finished reading the book. :)Very interesting. And I didn't know Ian Holm was in it! I haven't even seen the trailer. I'm not sure how good it'll be but I love storms! As long as it has Ok acting and few cheesy lines, I think it'll be quite good.

Is this the one from the makers of Independence Day? If so, BLARHG.

I want to see this one, I love Jake Gyllenhaal's acting, he is always good in his films.
I hope that it is as good as it seems.
And I do want to see the special effects they use for the snow & ice, I think overall it will be an excelent one.

~Jonathan, I love you new picture

you will be the day after tomorrow;):p
Well, it looks like one of those relaxing action/drama movies that I wouldnt mind watching through:). See em all, might as well see another right?:p And who knows, with all the sucky movies coming out, this one might not be half bad:). Van Helsing looked good at first, but it got bad reviews etc...same for Hellboy.

True, True...
I have heard bad reviews for hellboy & van helsing, along with many others, but I have hope for TDATomarrow.

What's with all the half-assed story lines these days?
The work they do on their movies is pointless. I cant understand why all new releases suck.

If it comes to the free on-campus movie in the fall, I might see it. I'm not going to pay any money to see it. The effects look cool though.

Will be seeing it for two reasons:

1. I want to see if Roland Emmerich has finally grown up a bit, and

2. While I don't normally see movies for actors and actresses, Emmy Rossum is an exception, mostly because I want to get a feel for her acting (aside from the few minutes she has in Mystic River before I see her as Christine in The Phantom of the Opera.

Though the movie doesn't look particulary good (apart from the effects) I'll probably see it, if for nothing else but to see the world end.

Lol yeah, basically a summer action movie thats kinda only really around for a few weeks then most people forget about it. They never really turn into classics but are just midless fun that are quite enjoyable to watch and may not be realistic or anything. Like Independance Day, T3 etc. (although T3 was actually pretty good imo)

I saw it over the weekend. The boyfriend wanted to go. "Mindless summer entertainment" I believe someone said in a previous post. That sums it up.

I like Dennis Quaid, though. He's good in almost anything.

There's a line in the movie that says something to the effect: "All the roads in Pennsylvania and New York are impassable because of the storm." Apparently, this was some type of news flash. This was obviously written by someone who has never lived in New York in the winter. You just get out the plows and the road salt and keep on drivin'. Sheesh!! Whata buncha wimps!!!

So your boyfriend has to pretend to like Dennis Quaid? Huh, he's lucky. I have to feign interest in Elijah Wood... *eeeediadalay* :(

I think Dennis Quaid is a good actor. There are other actors I find more drool-worthy, however. The tragic thing is, I'm starting to find out that the cute ones are getting younger all the time. (This does not apply to Sean Connery and Harrison Ford...)

Elijah Wood does nothing for me, however. But there is one of those Hobbits I wouldn't mind spending some quality time with...

I thought Dennis Quaid made the most out of a stupendously average movie in the case of The Day After Tomorrow.

Well it is hard not laughing at Elijah Wood... he looks like someone has randomly walked up to him and slapped him in th face and he's about to say 'What was that for?' in a feeble high pitched voice...
Actually we play a game called Apples to Apples, I believe it's actually an American game and we have one of the, well, two copies in the UK. It's a word game with adjectives and proper nouns. On the create your own card noun cards my gf wrote Elijah Wood, and in the description section it has gradually built up various suggestions designed to annoy her... must pertaining to dolphin beastiophilia that occurred during the filming of flipper... :D

The scene with the Russian cargo ship coming to rest in front of the library was a bit much -- but, oh yes, so very necessary in terms of plot development.

Poor Elijah Wood. I do feel sorry for him. I really overheard this in a bathroom after going to see RotK:

Woman 1: "I liked it. I thought Sean Astin did a great job."

Woman 2: "He did!! And I thought Tobey Maguire was good as Frodo, too."

I can hardly wait to see Elijah in Spiderman 2!!!

:D
