You know, I've noticed that everyone in Harry Potter likes socks? why is that?

Because they do not know the dangers of wearing socks. Socks are evil. I am anti-sock. BEWARE THE SOCK!

it think its a psychological defect. or maybe the genes for liking socks and being a wizzard are linked.

Or perhaps it's a Europian(sp? I'm awful at spelling) thing. Dobby's my fav. with the whole sock thing though. I mix and match almost all the time! It's funny, people have finnally stopped asking me about why I don't match...it's about time, I've been doing it long enough.

Well...the wizards and witches in question do live in England, and according to Ozzy eskimos die there. I was watching the Osbournes one night and Ozzy was telling someone they needed to get a coat because they didn't understand that even eskimos die there.

However that essay makes sevral very good points. The socks are symbolism where (in my opinion) it would be hard to find any other type. So JKR did the best she could and turned it into a sort of sweet kind-of caring humour. I rather like the whole sock thing, it gets very creative in places.

Since this is a thread about socks I figure I can bring it up instead of creating another thread. In the essay the mirror of erised is mentioned briefly mentioned with it is what Dumblodore claims he saw. Now the essay said he NEVER lies...but he never really tells the truth either. Well, I don't mean never in that sense but you've all read the books.
Did he really see that in the mirror? Will it ever be mentioned again? Was it really all that important? If he didn't see it what is that he wants?
Has anyone ever asked JKR these questions? If not, why not?

Errrr....so there you have it, it's been on my mind, in the back of it really, for a while. So if you find a link or know somehting I don't please tell.
