I've heard that many LOTR fans are bummed because RotK was "snubbed" on acting nominations. I'm not sure that is the case. The movies are an example of ensemble acting at its finest. The Hollywood Machine doesn't really know how to deal with or acknowledge that. So even though there were many fine individual performances in RotK (and the other films), the Academy decided to take it's normal, mainstream aproach to determining nominations.

I'm not sure that fans have any reason to be upset about the lack of acting nominations in light of all the other nominations the film has been given.

Personally, I think there is an excellent chance they will win most of the awards for which they are nominated. (How can "Into the West" not win best song?)

And Peter Jackson in a shoo-in. No one else has ever done what he's done.

rotk will win best pic, clint eastwood best director, penn or kingsly best actor, theron best actress, marcia gay harden best supp actress, alec baldwin best supp actor.
and finding nemo best animated film and best original screenplay.

I have not only not heard of Mystic River, but I have not seen it. I have only seen Sean Penn in one other movie, but liked him, and have no problem watching him win an Oscar. When are the ceremonies, anyhow?

I want to see Keisha Castle-Hughes win Best Actress. "Whale Rider" was great (everyone go watch it! :p ). Plus, she's 13 and I just want to see beat out the other actresses. :D But, I have a feeling Charlize Theron will win it. :(

Whale Rider was good. I'd be great if Keisha Castle-Hughes won the award.

Well my parents don't but all my friends were saying how they got their parents the Pirates DVD for christmas. :D And yes, Rosie, he got it for Captain Jack.
I think RotK will win best pic, PJ will win best director, and Into the West will win best song. But that's just me:D

I hope the film 'Evil' wins the Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film. Actually I haven't seen the film yet, but I'm planning to after I've finished reading the book which the film is based on. Everyone I've talked to who have seen the film say that it's great.
