There's already a nice thread under 'General Messages' forum where all new 'mooters are encouraged to introduce themselves. You should check in there right away. Can't miss it - it'll be right on the top.

Sadly, someone with such power (either a mod = moderator, or an admin = administrator (the latter are especially fearsome - but all are kind and good folk!)) will likely be along soon to close this thread. They try to avoid redundancy around here... so in general, the rule of thumb is to check to see if there's already a thread like what you're thinking about, before actually starting a new thread. Helps keep things easier to find.

And... don't take any of that as an 'unwelcome'... they usually have to 'break in' the newcomers around here, so it's no big deal. It's a very nice place and I hope you'll enjoy it! :)

Yeah, a lot of people start welcome threads before they notice the General Messages one. Don't feel bad when the padlock that looks like a garbage can descends upon the thread. :)

Another note about mods and admins, they're all really nice, and are happy to answer anyone's questions in a private message - if you have one not answered in the FAQ.
